• The Perfume Pagoda Festival takes place at the
Perfume Pagoda scenic area (in Huong Son, My Duc
district, Hanoi capital)
• Perfume Pagoda Festival is a major Tet festival in
Vietnam held annually and attracts people from the
South to the North to visit and make pilgrimages.
2.Time
• Perfume Pagoda Festival takes place over a long period from January
to March of the lunar calendar. The official opening of the festival
begins on January 6 every year, the day the forest is opened to the
people.
3.Festival
• During the incense offering ceremony, there

vegetarian food. When offering the altar, two

nuns will wear saffron robes, bring offerings,
run the altar, and then perform extremely
unique movements.
 4.Meaning
• The Perfume Pagoda Festival symbolizes the harmony between reality and dreams, fairy and
profane. Reality is the foundation, dreams are considered despair in the fresh, warm spring air
that the kind and simple Vietnamese people have felt and passed on since ancient times.
