Upbringing and Education

• Mahmoud Abdel Aty was born in Sohag on the


6th of November 1967.

• He went to Assuit University and received his


Bachelor of Science degree in 1990.

• He also earned his Master of Science degree in


applied mathematics from the same university
in 1995.
Education
• He traveled to Germany where he attended the
Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics
where he completed his PhD in 1999.

• He then got another PhD in mathematics and


physics from the National University of
Uzbekistan in 2007.

• He went back to Assuit University to become


an assistant lecturer.
Achievements
• Dr. Abdel Aty was able to solve multiple problems that no other mathematician was able to solve in
generations.

• He became the vice president of the African Mathematical Confederation.

• He published many research papers many of which have been published internationally and he has
written 2 books that have been published by international publishing houses.

• He is the Editor-In-Chief of the International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Information


Sciences and has founded several scientific journals.

• He can speak English, Arabic, and German which helped him spread his ideas all over the world.
Achievements
• He is the Director of the Center for International Relations at Sohag University, and Professor of
Informatics and Cybersecurity at Nasser Higher Military Academy.

• He founded the idea of the Arab Impact Factor project.

• He participated in 123 international conferences.

• He was given several awards including the Professor Faiza Al-Kharafi Prize in 2009 Physics, the
Abdul Hameed Shoman Prize in Mathematics for Arab Researchers in 2005, Amin Lotfi Prize in
Basic Sciences, and was awarded the Best Mathematicians in the World Award in 2023 from China.

• Through his successful journey, he became


well-known and was able to obtain several
trophies.

• He earned the “Qin-Jiu-Shao” reward which is


only awarded to the most talented
mathematicians who are dedicated to their
work and this shows how he was viewed in a
really good light by most.
