TITLE SIX:

ARTICLE201 – IMMORAL DOCTRINES, OBSCENE PUBLICATIONS AND


EXHIBITIONS, AND INDECENT SHOWS

- Under Philippine law, immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions and
indecent shows are penalized under Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC).
Offenders shall be imprisoned for a maximum of six years and/or fined Php6,000.00
to Php :2,000.00.
Punishes:
I. Public proclamations of doctrines openly contrary to public morals.

II. Publication of obscene literature. In case of publication of obscene literature, it is the


author, the editor, the owner or proprietor of the establishment that sells the said
materials SHALL BE HELD CRIMINALLY LIABLE.

III. The third act punished is the exhibition of indecent shows, plays, scenes or acts in
fairs, theaters, cinemas or any other places.

IV. Selling, giving away or exhibiting films,, engravings, sculptures or literature which
are offensive to public morals.
