To Transform Row Data into
Information

Data transformation is the process of converting, cleansing, and structuring

data into a usable format that can be analyzed to support decision making
processes, and to propel the growth of an organization. This can occur at two
places of the data pipeline.First, organizations with on-site data storage use an
extract, transform, load, with the data transformation taking place during the
middle ‘transform’ step.

Tools of Basic Descriptive Statistics

There are four different types of descriptive analysis: measures of frequency,

central tendency, dispersion or variation, position, . These techniques work
best when only one variable is present.
1. Measures of Frequency
2. Measures of Central Tendency
3. Measures of Dispersion
4. Measures of Position

Measures of association
Measure of association, in statistics, any of various factors
or coefficients used to quantify a relationship between two or
more variables. Measures of association are used in various
fields of research but are especially common in the areas of
epidemiology and psychology, where they frequently are
used to quantify relationships between exposures and
diseases or behaviours.

Presentation title 6
Testing of Hypotheses-I
Parametric tests are those tests for which we have prior
knowledge of the population distribution (i.e, normal), or if
not then we can easily approximate it to a normal
distribution which is possible with the help of the Central
Limit Theorem.
Parameters for using the normal distribution is –
 Mean
 Standard Deviation

Presentation title 7
Chi-square Test
The Chi-Square test is a statistical procedure for determining
the difference between observed and expected data. This test
can also be used to determine whether it correlates to the
categorical variables in our data. It helps to find out whether
a difference between two categorical variables is due to
chance or a relationship between them.

Presentation title 8
Analysis of Variance and Covariance
What Is Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)?
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is an analysis tool used in statistics that splits an
observed aggregate variability found inside a data set into two parts: systematic factors
and random factors.Analysts use the ANOVA test to determine the influence that
independent variables have on the dependent variable in a regression study.
What is ANCOVA?
ANCOVA, or the analysis of covariance, is a powerful statistical method that analyzes
the differences between three or more group means while controlling for the effects of at
least one continuous covariate.

Presentation title 9
Testing of Hypothesis-II
What is a Non-parametric Test?
Non-parametric tests are the mathematical methods used in
statistical hypothesis testing, which do not make assumptions
about the frequency distribution of variables that are to be
evaluated. The non-parametric experiment is used when there
are skewed data, and it comprises techniques that do not
depend on data pertaining to any particular distribution.

Qualitative Method
Qualitative research has been defined by Denzin and Lincoln'
as:
a situated activity that locates the observer in the world. It
consists of a set of interpre- tive, material practices that make
the world visible. These practices transform the world. They
turn the world into a series of representations, including field
notes, interviews, conversations, photographs, and
recordings, and memos to the self .
