 Inspection: finding the end breakage, picks, holes,
neps.
 Singeing: to remove hairiness by burning.
 Desizing: to remove the sizing materials by
enzyme.
 Scouring: to remove oil /wax .
 Bleaching: to whiten the fabric by oxidizing &
reducing agent.
 Mercerizing: chemical process to improve lusture &
strength.
 Dyeing & printing: finishing process: to improve
attractiveness.
Neps, Thick & Thin place
Neps: entangled mass of fibers, thickness 2
times/200% greater than normal fibers.

Thick Place & Thin Place: till 1 inch place of


fabric,
