commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. All n All will be the
largest online retailer in the world by revenue and market capitalization.

• In 2016, an ad for a brand of cooking oil called Hayat aired in
Egypt. The ad featured a husband who comes home to find his
wife cooking his favorite dish using the Hayat cooking oil.
Upon tasting the food, the husband is so pleased that he gives
his wife permission to buy anything she wants. The message of
the ad was that women can earn their husbands' favor and get
what they want by cooking delicious food with Hayat cooking
oil.
• Viewers criticized the ad for promoting negative gender
stereotypes and suggesting that a woman's worth lies in
pleasing her husband through domestic tasks. Many viewers
also felt that the ad reinforced the idea that a woman needs a
man's permission to make purchases or have agency over her
