1. Force on Sling = Sling Load Factor X Share Load

2. Tension on Sling = Load / 2SinA

3. Tension on Sling Leg= WXL / HXN

H- Height of triangle in meter
L-Length of Sling in meter
N- Nos of Sling
4. Tension on Sling = (Weight / No of legs) X L.A.F
Sling Load Factor = L/H
Example:-
Horizontal angle 60 degree
Total Weight 10 Tons

Tension on Sling=( 10 ton / 2 legs)* 1.155

= 5 Ton * 1.155
=5.775 tons tension on each sling

Points for attention:

•Never replace the shackle pin with a bolt.
•Ensure the pin is totally locked.
•Do not use screw pin shackles if the pin can roll and
unscrew.
•During lifting, shackles shall not lean to one side.
