Theoritical Framework

The theoretical framework for this study was


anchored on Motivation Theory by Abraham Maslow.
Maslow's theory of needs was based on a hierarchical
model where basic needs at the bottom and higher
needs at the top (physiological, safety, love, esteem,
cognitive, aesthetic, self – actualization and
transcendence needs).

METHODOLOGY
Research Design
This study applies the descriptive quantitative
method as it determines the profile and causes of
malnutrition and the academic performance of the
Grade 7 learners in Calumpang High School, School Year
2023-2024. Furthermore, it is also correlational for it
sought to find out the relationship between the
nutritional status and academic performance of the
stated learners. 7

The Grade 7 learners are the subjects of this study,


Grade 7-Jupiter and Grade 7-Saturn of Calumpang High
School Year 2023-2024.
