• Conducting a real-world experiment requires a lot of learning and ways in which we implement our knowledge,
individually and as a team.
• Even a group of likeminded people have differences, and it is teamwork that will bring the project up, with
equivalent but not equal contributions.
The state of physical surveillance (by means
of cameras) is dominantly passive all around the globe.

Wherever active :-
PROBLEM • is mostly state owned (China has 170

number has active surveillance).
• is accessible to major corporations
only (SuperBowl).
To commercialize active video surveillance.

Use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine

MISSION Learning is a greatly untapped area which can
STATEMENT transform the already existing passive
surveillance system (with minimal
changes) into one which minimizes human
intervention.
Consumer cameras connected to a central database
having Big Data to analyze anomalies and actively
report them.

• Creating a central database that can apply

AI/ML to Big Data.
SOLUTION • Providing enough initial dummy data for system
to be operative at product launch.
• Connecting consumer cameras to the central
network securely.
• Creating a coherent and ethical privacy policy
that recognizes personal information and
prevents misuse by any and all.
• Drawing on research findings and best practice, the general
perspective relating to the value of public surveillance CCTV,
in the context of contributing to reducing crime and
disorder is positive.

FEASIBILIT • Many prospective clients around the intended market area

already use CCTV as a tool in their crime reduction, risk

Y management or community safety program , but need help

and qualified expertise to advise on the best and robust
approach.

• Flexibility to the clients, provided by our USP, makes market

expansion and client inclusion easy.
• The primary purposes for the use of security surveillance
technology are to deter crime, investigate crimes and policy
violations and identify involved parties, and to assist Campus
Safety in protecting the safety and property of the college
community.

USEFULNE • Law enforcement can proactively identify criminals recorded

SS with cameras. Through surveillance cameras, the police can
both prevent crimes from happening and can quickly solve
criminal cases with material evidence.

• Criminals are less likely to commit crimes in the area if they

know they’re going to be being filmed and monitored the
whole time.
TARGET BENEFICIARIES

Since theft detection, facial recognition and disaster prevention (by means of
various alarms) are salient features of our system. Our product is an ideal solution
to every organization and place that is either looking for or already has an existing
(passive) surveillance system.
• Offices of corporations and small scale businesses
• Schools and colleges
• Malls and shopping centers
• Hospitality sector
• Housing complexes and apartments
• Flat and personal houses/bungalows
MARKET ANALYSIS

With a projection of 1 Billion surveillance cameras around the world by the end of 2021,
with half of them being in China alone. The worldwide demand for security and
surveillance equipment is on the rise. Major players like Hikvision, Huawei and Dahua, etc.
share the existing market which is highly competitive without a dominant player.

The Indian market for network cameras is growing swiftly as well, other than law
enforcement organizations, the enterprises, small and medium businesses and end
customers are looking at surveillance technologies as a prime necessity. Major players here
are Aditya Infotech, D-Link, Godrej Security Solution, Axis Video Systems and Honeywell.
Our solution (that doesn't necessarily include the cameras itself) to connect all the
cameras of a client to one centralized network is through one device, that connects to
the internet.

With an optional web application that will have user specific information. The crisis
averted, theft stooped, unusual activity detected, all will be filtered and put up.
Since most of our challenges, like setting up and coding the server and web application,
are pre-launch, scalability is not an uphill task. As other supplies such as lenses and ICs
are readily available.

the cameras. Everything else is automated and handled

Little to no interoperability between

competing solutions with a hard
ecosystem that keeps clients bounded. THEM
RESOURCES REQUIRED

• Marketing and sales team to directly interact with clients.

Human Resources • Software maintenance and development team to create a state-of-the-art, simple to use product.
• Manufacturing and supply sourcing team to produce quality equipment .

Through a series of hiring campaigns and interviews that filters well equipped personals.

• Server house that processes Big Data to train Machine Learning algorithm.
Equipment • Manufacturing equipment to produce client-side products.

Through a well researched supply chain that spans various industries.

• Property for manufacturing and server houses.

Investment •

Expenditure on staff salary.
Expenditure on equipment procurement.

From self investment and from investors, venture capitalists, startup funds through a series of fund-raising campaigns.

The whole solution is divided in two major segments :
• The hardware that collects video footage and sends to server for real time analysis.
• The server that applies code to every frame in the footage and provides feedback if and
whenever needed.

Revenue is generated from both categories :

• Camera (optional)
• Proprietary connection unit
• Subscription to server

Our clients, as mentioned earlier, will be all entity looking for hassle free and
automated video surveillance.
• The proprietary connector would be priced at 3000 INR, with each camera
adding 2,000 INR to total.
• The subscription fee would be 80 INR per camera per month.
• Expected profit will be 10-15% in the initial setup per client and 40-45%
in subscription profit.

IMPLEMENTATION

Our solution largely depends on the AI/ML model that actively scans for required information in
the video footages.
We have created a demo code that scans for intrusion in private property, using pixel
identification in frames at the rate of 10 FPS. Training the code to efficiently detect anomaly was
done in home computers.

The handmade prototype circuit designed in laboratory, along with the demo code, was used to
create a proof of concept that operated on already installed CCTV in a team member’s house.

We also met with multiple experts who have worked with AI/ML , circuit designed and
manufacturing to polish our ideas and its implementation. It greatly improved performance and
accuracy of the proof of concept, evident by the experiments conducted.
We have planned total investment After 2.5-3 years of development,
of 8,00,00,000 INR in property, we plan on delivering 5000 units (1
plant, equipment and RnD from connector + 2 camera on average)
setup to initial product launch. at cost of 1,50,00,000 INR

With a fixed manufacturing and selling

target of 5,000 units and maintenance
cost of 50,00,000 per year. It would take
5-6 years for the company to be
profitable.

With 2,000 profit on equipment costing

3000 and selling at 7,000, initial return
is 1,00,00,000 INR. With 96,00,000 INR
returns on subscription fee per year.
