CHRISTANITY
PROF.NASEER JOHN
Two major Commandments in the jesus
teachings
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets
hang on these two commandments."
LOVE THE LORD
The critical work that reflects love for God is faith in Christ, “This is the work of God that
you believe in Him whom He sent”
(John 6:29)
we are focused on certain behaviors and spiritual disciplines: Bible reading, prayer,
worship, serving, sharing your faith and being involved in a small group.
GOLDEN RULE
TREAT OTHER AS YOU LIKE TO BE TREATED
BREAKING BARRIERS
The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31):- Jesus tells the story of a rich
man who ignored a beggar named Lazarus, who was suffering outside his gate. However,
after both men die, Lazarus finds comfort in heaven while the rich man experiences
torment. Jesus uses this parable to emphasize the importance of caring for and showing
compassion towards those in need, highlighting the consequences of neglecting our
neighbors.
IMPORTAN POINTS
Here are some simple ideas to help us love our neighbors better:
1. Simplify church life and life generally to create margin to spend time with neighbors
where you live, work, study and play.
2. Befriend and build relationships with neighbors by asking, “How are you doing?”
3. When your neighbor is struggling ask, “Can I pray with (for) you?”
4. Ask, “How can I help?” If the request is reasonable, and you are able, then seek to help.
CONCLUSION
In summary, the teachings of Jesus emphasize the importance of loving and caring for our
neighbors. By embodying compassion, kindness, and service, we can create a community
grounded in love and build meaningful connections with those around us.
