Synopsis
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is a young adult
fiction novel that narrates the story of a 16-year-old
girl who is diagnosed with cancer. She joins a support
group where she meets Augustus, and there is a
rollercoaster of emotions throughout this novel as the
relationship between Hazel and Augustus develops.
Hazel and Augustus are able to find comfort in each
other through the tough times and learn to lean into
each other which makes them both realize that they are
not alone. They find love in each other and feel
hopeful for each other, also while allowing the readers
to learn about their inner struggles.

I realised that cancer not just touches victims, but it also touches all those who
love’ The Fault In Our Stars is a novel written by John Green, a renowned TITLE: the fault in our stars
author of Young Adult fiction. The story gives an account of Hazel, who can AUTHOR: John Green
hardly remember life without cancer and has almost given up hope on her life. GENRE: novel/ young adult
She then meets Augustus Waters, a cancer survivor, who reads her favorite fiction

two of them deal with cancer and love. The story is written in a breathtaking
way which makes us become a part of the characters and feel the same
emotions. Hazel and Augustus appeal to readers through their sense of humour
and their courage. But behind this courage, both of them hide their pain to
protect their families. John Green, through Hazel and Augustus, brings both:
tears and laughter.
The Fault in Our Stars is a beautiful novel and I would recommend it to
anyone who believes in love and has the courage to fight for it. Through this
book I realised that cancer not just touches victims, but it also touches all those
who love.

anything but terminal , her final chapter inscribes
upon diagnosis, but when a gorgeous plot twist
named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at

completely rewritten
