 Why We required ERP
• ERP system is implemented in BSNL to club the different
modules e.g. PM,PS, REM,FICO,HCM and SD etc.
• With ERP implementation we have faster and efficient
process workflow i.e. tracking of Ty. Adv., Medical
reimbursement, various departmental processes etc.
• We can have faster and accurate analysis of Company’s
position for decision taking as all data pertaining to circles
is available on centralized ERP Server.
• ERP system is an important move towards paperless
working, Note sheet in Soft form, Online vendor/employee
payments instead of cheque etc.

 How to Login ESS
• URL to access ESS portal is “
www.erpportal.bsnl.co.in/irj/portal”.
• Login id for ESS portal is your Personal No. i.e.
remove first digit of your present HR number.
• If an employee forget his ESS password, it can be
reset by either entering Per No and Email Id (SAP
registered) or by requesting SDE/AGM Admin of
BA/OA.

 What is ESS
• ESS means “Employee Self Service” is a part of
HCM Module of ERP.
• With ESS an Employee can have access to his
data pertaining to Leaves,
Pay/Reimbursement, Personal information,
etc.
• Leave management covered under “Working
Time” tab has information related to Leave
quota, holiday calendar, leave application etc.

 What is ESS (Cont.)
• Wages/Reimbursement management covered
under tabs “Employee Claim”, “Travel and
Expenses” and “Pay Information” has
information related to Pay Data, Salary Slips,
General/Medical/Travel reimbursement etc.
• HR data gives information regarding an
employee under “ Personal Information” and
“Employee Search” tabs.

 What is ESS (Cont.)
• Few important tabs have been added in ESS in last
2-3 years like Online Transfer Portal (OTP), IPMS,
GTI, membership subscription etc.
• HR data gives information regarding an employee
under “ Personal Information” and “Employee
Search” tabs.
• Recently “Fiori” tab has been added in ESS portal to
facilitate user with basic activities like Temporary
Advance request, FRAC data create/approval, Leave
request/approval through desktop/mobile.

 Features of ESS Portal
• Following are the important features/tabs of ESS
portal:
1. Leave : This tab covers leave management by
employee and has following options.
 Leave Request : For applying any type of Leave.
 Quota Overview : To see leave balances.
 Holiday Calendar : TH/RH etc. during the Year.
 Leave History : History of Leaves availed by employee.
 Other options like Leave Extension/Curtailment and
Cancellation, Joining report etc.

2. Pay Information : This tab covers
Wages/Reimbursement related to employee
and has following options.
 Salary Statement : Salary Slips for Current and previous
months with Overview for specified period.
 GPF : GPF Ledger report/Withdrawal/Advances request
etc.
 Income Tax Report : This option displays Income Tax data
for financial year.

3. Employee Claim : This tab covers
claims like General and Outdoor/Indoor
medical claims.
 General Claim : This tab contains claims like Mobile,
Towel, Newspaper etc.
 Outdoor Medical Claims : Medical Claim
submission/Status/History for Outdoor treatment.
 Indoor Medical Claim : Medical Claims for expenses made
for in-hospital treatment of employee and his dependents.

4. Personal Information : This tab covers
personal information related to employee
and has following options.
 Personal information : Employee info. like
confirmation, nomination details and other service
book related data.
 Property Returns : View and Submit IPR’s of
Employee.

4. Travel and Expenses : This tab covers options
related to travel advance/claims, furnishing
allowance etc.
5. Other tabs like Employee search, APAR.
6. Universal Worklist on ESS home page displays
tasks, notifications, tracking etc.
