Creative and Critical Thinking

Design Prototype:
“Multifunction Coffee
Maker”
Introduction
There are 400 billions cups of coffee that consumed each years
across country (HowStuffWorks, 2008).

Making coffee manually will be ineffective at certain time.

Coffee makers (sold in store) are too expensive.

Project Objectives:
● To establish a new recycled coffee maker that combines
dispenser and stirrer machine into one multifunction product

● To increase the efficiency of the recycled coffee maker while

reducing its cost

● To improve critical and creative thinking through

constructing an innovative prototype by using used
materials.

Scope of the Project

● UHAK 2022 task accomplishment

● Stimulate creative and critical thinking of the group

members
Literature Silva et al. (2013) at Sao Paulo, Brazil
Suggests that recycling and reuse material like
Review cardboard boxes can significantly improve product
sustainability as it seems more ergonomic and
durable.
Roy (2000) at Milton Keynes, UK
Indicates a concept of sustainable product-
service that requires creative thinking to reduce Baeyens, Brems, and Dewil (2010) at Coventry, UK
environmental impacts. Founds that a recovery and recycling technique of additional post-
consumer waste such as plastic bottles was impacted to the
environmental importance.

Blevis (2007) at Bloomington, USA

Highlights the forms of disposal, salvage,
recycling, remanufacturing for reuse, longevity
of use, sharing for maximal use, and finding
wholesome alternatives.

Result of Testing

Prototype testing has been carried out two times

First Test:
● The water flows out of the rubber tube while the
controller is opened.
● Put the wrong side and size of the plastic straw on
the stirrer. As a result, the water in the glass
splashed to us when the stirrer moves.

Second Test:
● Both dispenser and stirrer machine have
successfully worked without any problem.
● However, need to correct the bottle position for
better water flow.
