ANGL E
Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the students should be

able to:
a) define the angle;
b) illustrates the different parts of angles, and
c) Try to measure an angle using a
protractor.
Angle

• Angle- is comes from the Latin
word angulus means corner.

• It is formed when two rays

meet at a common endpoint,
what we called vertex.
Parts of an Angle
Vertex: corner of an angle.
Arms: two sides of an angle
Initial side: reference line.
Terminal side: the side up, which the angle
measurement is done.
Naming an Angle

• ∠ this symbol represents an angle.

• Angle can be measured in degrees (⁰), using
a protractor.

How to use a
protractor?
How to draw an angles that measures 45 ⁰

For example:
m ∠ ACT = 45 ⁰
To illustrate the angle . Lets follow this instructions

How to construct an angle (using a angle)

• Draw a ray CT of any length.

• Place the protractor at that point, and its
midpoint should touch the marked point C.
• Mark the point as A on the top circular part
of a protractor, according to preferred angle.
• Mark the degree of the angle made, where
two side of the straight line intersects.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. the class will be divided into three groups.
2. Each group should have gathered in each
assign places.
3. each group should have a leader, reporter,
and a secretary.
4. each group should have a representative to go
in front to choose/pick their assigned task.
5. all groups will be given a 5 mins to do the
task and 2 mins to present their work.
CRITERIA
QUIZ:
Test 1: Each student will get ½ sheet of paper (crosswise).
Draw an angle that measures the following:
a) 35˚ = __________________
b) 45˚= ______________________
c) 60˚ = __________________
d) 120˚ = _____________________
e) 150˚ = .

Test II. IDENTIFICATION

1. it is coming from a Latin word “angulus” that means corner.
2. it is the parts of an angle where the two straight lines or rays meet at a
common endpoint.
3. what is the symbol of angle.
4. this is the side which is known as reference line.
5. it is a measurement tool where an angle can be measured
ASSIGNMENT:
1. write a reflection of what you have
learn in today’s discussion.
2. study the different kind of angle and
provide each example.
