Debate Topic
TOPIC FOR TODAY

Do you agree
that money can
buy happiness?
GRAMMAR
Present Continuous Tense:
•It's used to talk about actions happening
now or around the present.
•We use the present tense of "to be" (am, is,
are) + verb + -ing.

Example: He is planning a vacation, and it's

making him excited.
This indicates the action of planning for a
trip, leading to excitement.
DISCUSSION
• Can you think of something fun or special you
could buy with money that would make you
happy?

• Why do you think it's important for families to

have enough money for things like a comfortable
home and food?

• What are some things that make you really happy

that don't cost any money at all?
DISCUSSION
• Can you name a person or a moment in your life when
you felt really happy, but it had nothing to do with
money?

• How do you think having too much stuff or too much

money can sometimes make people feel unhappy or
stressed?

• What are some ways you can make yourself and others
happy that don't involve spending money?
HOMEWORK: Record a video about ‘Can Money
Make You Happy?’

Money and happiness are two things that many

people want. But can money really make you
happy? Well, it's not a simple "yes" or "no"
answer. It's more complicated than that.
Money Can Make you Happy
● Basic Needs: Money helps you get what you need, like food, a
home, and clothes. When you have these things, you feel safe
and happy.
● Life Quality: Money lets you have a better life. You can go to
good doctors, get a good education, and live comfortably.
● Fun Experiences: Money helps you do fun things like going on
trips, seeing shows, eating out, or doing hobbies. These
experiences create great memories and happiness.
Money Can't Buy Happiness

Too Much Money: After a certain point, having more money

doesn't make you much happier. You get used to a good life, and
extra money doesn't add much more happiness.

Chasing Things: If you're always trying to get more stuff and

money, you might become shallow and unhappy. It's not about
things; it's about what's in your heart.

True Relationships: Money can't buy real friendships and love.

Real happiness comes from good relationships with people, not
from buying them.
In the end, the connection between money
and happiness is complex. Money can help,
but it can't make you happy all by itself. Real
happiness comes from how you see life, the
people you love, and feeling good inside. It's
about having a balance between money and
everything else in life.

middle of our solar system, like the boss of all the planets and stuff.
The closest planets to the Sun were Mercury and Venus - super hot!
Further out, Jupiter and Saturn are giant with moons and pretty rings.
Earth is our special "Blue Planet" with lots of water. Pluto used to be
far away but it's tiny now. Mars is the "Red Planet," and Jupiter is the
biggest. Venus is like Earth's sister. Saturn has amazing rings and is
number six from the Sun. Uranus is super cold, and Neptune is cool
and blue.
These are our awesome planets in space!

Hello, young explorers!
Did you know that our solar system is home to many amazing planets?
Each planet has its own unique characteristics and mysteries waiting to
be discovered. From the scorching heat of Mercury to the beautiful rings
of Saturn, the deep blue color of Neptune, and the red landscape of Mars,
there's so much to learn about these distant worlds. And, of course, we
have Earth, the only planet known to support life. Don't forget the icy
giants Uranus and Neptune, which are shrouded in mystery. As you gaze
up at the night sky, remember that there's a whole universe out there to
explore. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be the scientist who uncovers
the next big secret about our incredible planets. Keep your curiosity alive,
and the sky's the limit!

Sand and Stone Story

Tia: May I please come in?
Tofu: Hi Tia, yeah sure, come in.
Video Script
Tia: Are you okay? I heard you had a fight with your best friend.
Tofu: Really? Today? Oh, thank you, Tia, but I'm fine. Really.
Tia: Are you going to talk to her again? Aren't you mad at her?
Tofu: Of course, I will talk to her, Tia. She's my best friend even now, after the fight.
Tia: How can that be? Let me tell you a story to help you understand.

[Story]
Tia: There were two best friends, John and James. They had known each other all their lives. When it came
time to look for a job, they decided to travel together across a harsh desert.
James: We have limited food and water, and we still have a lot of the desert left to cross. We should
conserve our supplies.
John: I want water.
James: You can have water, but just a little bit. We have to save it for the rest of the desert crossing.
John: I don't care. I am sure we will find the oasis ahead somewhere.
[They wrestle for the water bottle. In the heat of the moment, John slaps James.]
Tia: Stunned by that, both friends stopped fighting and decided to keep walking on. Before moving on, James
bent down and wrote on the sand, "John slapped me today."
[They continue their journey and come upon an oasis.]
Video Script
Tia: They filled their bottles and took a bath in the water. However, James became careless
and started to drown. John grabbed him and pulled him out of the water to safety.
James: Thank you, my friend. I owe you my life.
John: Don't worry about it. Let us rest for some time, and then we will resume our journey.
[They sleep for some time.]
Tia: When they woke up and were ready to leave, James wrote something on a big stone.
John: What are you writing, James?
James: When you slapped me, I wrote in the sand that you slapped me. The winds would
have blown that away by now. But when you saved my life, I wrote it on the stone so that
nothing can erase it.
[Both friends become overwhelmed and hug each other.]
Tia: James chose to remember the good things about their friendship and forget the bad
ones.
Tofu: Hence, really, and I won't stop being friends even after a fight as bad as today's. That is
what you do in friendship, Tia, and in relationships too.
Tia: Yes, in relationships too.
Discussion
• What led to the fight between John and James in the desert?

• How did the friends resolve the fight between them?

• What did James write in the sand during their journey in the desert?

• Why did James write something on a stone at the oasis?

• How did John and James react when they read what was written on the stone?

• What is the key message or moral of the story?

Discussion
• In what ways can this story apply to real-life friendships and relationships?

• Why is it important to remember the good aspects of a friendship or

relationship, even after a disagreement?

• Have you ever experienced a situation where you had a conflict with a friend

but later reconciled? How did it make you feel?

• How can this story teach us about forgiveness and valuing the bonds we

share with others?

Homework
Let's tell the story one more
time and make a video out
