of voltage sources
If we want to increase the voltage of the sources, we
connect the sources in series:

3,0 V

1,5 V

I = I1
The condition is that the sources have the same
current.
Parallel connection
of voltage sources
If we want to increase the current of the sources, we connect
the sources in parallel:

100 mA 100 mA

200 mA

1,5 V
1,5 V 1,5 V

E = E1
I = 2I1
The condition is that the sources have the same
voltage.
Combined connection
of voltage sources
If we want to increase the voltage of the sources, as well as
the current, we combine them:

100 mA 100 mA

1,5 V 1,5 V
200 mA

3,0 V

1,5 V 1,5 V

E = 2E1
I = 2I1
The condition is that the sources have the same current
as well as the same voltage.
