The first two phrases belong to the antecedent group. It ends on a weak cadence because its
music feels incomplete.
The last two phrases belong to the consequent group. It ends on a strong cadence as its
music sounds complete
Period -made of two groups of phrases

For shorter songs, the first phrase is the antecedent and


the second phrase is the consequent. Together, they make
a period.

4. String Instruments - these
instruments produce a sound when the
strings are plucked or when a bow is
used with the string.
5. Keyboard Instruments - these
instruments make use of a row of keys
that are pressed. They have different
mechanisms beyond the keys to create
sound.
