INTRODUCTION
• This Internship focuses on network installation and system
development at Borena Wereda ICT Center
• It Offers comprehensive learning experience in networking
infrastructure and system capabilities
• Hands-on experience in configuring network hardware and
optimizing performance
• Opportunity to contribute to the development of robust
system features
• Aimed at producing skilled manpower and solving community
problems through tangible research

Background of organization

Borena werda ICT center is located 380 km west of Dessie city


in South Wollo Zone of Amhara Region
It is bordered by Leg ambo District in the north, Wagdi District
in the east, and Sayanti in the west.
This campany serves as a pivotal hub for technological
advancement and digital services within the Borena Wereda
Its mandate often encompasses the provision of essential
services such as internet access, digital skills development,
and technological support for local administrative functions
Objective of the internship

Gain hands-on experience


Learn about the latest technologies and tools used in the IT
industry.

Internship Position and
Responsibilities
Supported daily operations by performing server installations,
hardware upgrades, and troubleshooting network issues
Implemented and maintained security measures like access
controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
 Collaborated with IT teams to deploy and manage virtualized
environments and cloud services
Participated in disaster recovery planning and testing for
business continuity
 Provided timely support to data center customers and
responded to service requests
Professional Development

In this internship the following skill is acquired

enhanced networking skills
 Practical experience in hardware installation improved
technical skills
Insights into system administration, troubleshooting, and
project management
 Developed communication and teamwork skills through
collaboration with colleagues.
During this internship some training are applied:
 I Learned the importance of correctly aligning wires when
crimping RJ45 connectors for secure network connections
 I Gained insights into the benefits of using patch panels for
improved cable organization and network scalability
 I Developed an understanding of different types of patch
panels and their specific connectivity needs
 I Acquired experience in disassembling and assembling
computer hardware components for troubleshooting and
system upgrades
Some challenges during this internship
Limited network cables hindered network installation tasks
and system development projects
 Insufficient time for group collaboration affected team
coordination and efficiency
 Delayed arrival of ICT technicians impacted technical support
and project progress
In addition, the environmental problem was the main problem
when I did this internship period.
Projects and Contributions
I installed Windows 7 operating systems on multiple
computers, configuring settings and troubleshooting
compatibility issues for seamless operation
I assisted with configuring switches, routers, and access
points, setting up VLANs, IP addresses, and security features to
optimize network functionality.
I Performed routine maintenance tasks like disk cleanup,
defragmentation, and antivirus scans to optimize system
performance and prevent issues.
Team Collaboration

 we Established virtual network environment for testing and


deploying changes prior to production implementation
We Developed system monitoring tool for proactive network
performance and security management
 we Created custom Windows installation image for quick
deployment on multiple computers
 we Designed remote management system for efficient
troubleshooting of network devices and Windows systems
