The study concludes that tourism in Dumaguete City is a significant contributor to
the Philippine economy. The majority of tourists are Filipino residents, with an
increase in their percentage from 2019 to 2022. East Asia remains the highest
region of origin for non-Philippine residents. The study suggests that city officials
should prioritize cleanliness, sanitation, and affordable transportation to attract
more tourists. Popular tourist spots such as Rizal Boulevard and Lantaw Native
Restaurant were identified. The study recommends continuous development and
improvement in the tourism sector of Dumaguete City.
