Impong

by: Arnyl R. Arones

Impong is a typical boy who loves to run and play. He likes to look for small
spiders and play with them.

One day his mother told him to stay at home and help her in cleaning the
house. But Impong insisted to go out and look for spiders among the plants in
the neighborhood.
Impong carefully looked over the plants
for small spiders along the fences. Suddenly,
he saw a dog barking at him. Because he
was frightened, he ran as fast as he could. But
the dog outran him and bit him in the thigh.
Impong went home crying and
seeking for immediate aid. His mother
washed his wound with soap and
running water and hugged him to ease
his fear and pain. He was brought to
the hospital for anti-rabies medication.
From now on, every time
Impong’s mother gives him reminders,
he listens to her and understands the
consequences if he doesn’t put in
mind these reminders.
