What is Simple Past Tense?

Simple past tense is a type of sentence that is used to


tell about events that happened in the past which were
completed or ended in the past too. So we will use this
tenses when we tell about our completed activities that
happened in the past.

So, for example, we want to tell you that we
bought a book yesterday afternoon. So, because
this activity occurred in the past (yesterday
afternoon) and the purchasing process has been
completed, we can use this verb to tell the story.

What is the Formula for Simple
Past Tenses?
The general formula for this verb is subject + verb
2 + object + complement. However, like other
tense formulas, the past tense formula also
changes depending on whether the predicate is
nominal or verbal.
Nominal Formula Simple Past Tense
