I. INTRODUCTION:

• This study has been done to analyse the correlation between various parameters such as Plan and
Beam Complexity, Dose Distribution Index from DVH, Homogeneity Index, Conformity Index,
and Gamma Analysis.

• Liver- SBRT treatment plans were considered for this study.

• The Pearson- Correlation method has been used in the study to find the Positive and Negative
correlations between the above-mentioned parameters.
• Plan and Beam complexity were found using young’s formula.

• The homogeneity and conformity index were calculated.

• The dose distribution index was calculated using an in-house python program.

• The gamma pass rates were obtained from patient-specific verification QA.

• Hence, the correlation between these metrics will help in understanding them better and let us
conclude how they are interlinked.
II. MATERIALS AND METHODS:

• Varian Eclipse 16.1

• Varian Truebeam SVC

• DVH Analytic Software

• Dose Distribution Index (DDI) – Inhouse Python Software

• PTW 1500 - 2D Array with Octavius II Phantom

• Pearson Correlation Method

III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION:

1. RESULTS:

• Liver SBRT plans are selected retrospectively. The following parameters, Plan and Beam Complexity, Dose
Distribution Index from DVH, Homogeneity Index, Conformity Index, and Gamma Analysis were determined and
the correlation between them was obtained and analysed using Pearson’s correlation method.

2. DISCUSSION:

 From the assessment of the treatment plans, we can infer that a positive and a negative correlation
was seen in the different combinations of the parameters.

• We can further conclude from the obtained results that, when plan complexity increases, parameter
such as gamma pass rate decreases.
IV. CONCLUSION:

• From this study, we can conclude that positive correlations were seen in,

 dose distribution index and conformity index,

 conformity index and gamma pass rate,

 homogeneity index and plan complexity,

 dose distribution index, and gamma pass rate.

• Whereas, a negative correlation was found between,
 homogeneity index and gamma pass rate,
 dose distribution index and homogeneity index,
 dose distribution index and plan complexity,
 conformity index and plan complexity,
 conformity index, and homogeneity index,
 homogeneity index and gamma pass rate and
 plan complexity and gamma pass rate.

• Further, we can also infer that as Plan complexity increases when the conformity index is almost equal to

zero, the gamma pass rate decreases whereas, homogeneity index, and Dose distribution index increases.

• This leads to a better understanding of the relation among various parameters of plan analysis and will

help in finding the best plan to deliver to the patient.
