 THERE IS/THERE ARE affirmative and negative statements.(oraciones afirmativas y negativas)
There is significa “hay” de existir y se usa solo para singular. Ex: There is a refrigerator(Hay un refrigerador), siempre irá el artìculo indefinido”a” despues de there is.

There are también significa “hay” pero se usa para el plural. Ex: There are four apples(Hay cuatro manzanas)
Para there are, pueden utilizarse las siguientes palabras: some(algunos), many(muchos), o un número preciso.

Affirmative statements
• There is a museum downtown
• ( Hay un museo en el centro)
• There are many Banks downtown.
• (Hay varios bancos en el centro)
Negative statements.- Para formar la negación simplemente colocamos “not”
despues del is o are. Ex: There is not a plant. There are not grapes.
La forma negative la podemos usar en contracción. Ex:
• There isn`t a post office nearby.(No hay una oficina de correo cerca)
• There aren`t many stores downtown.(No hay muchas tiendas en el centro)
