(including Backache) Other
Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI)
• Flu season, besides COVID lurking around, contributes for the
upper respiratory tract infections seen at the clinic.

• Flu vaccination, which culminated last September, is another

preventive measure done to combat URTI and hopefully will
help reduce the cases in the following months.

• We still advise everyone not to go to work if symptomatic to

prevent possible spread/exposure in the workplace.
Other ENT Illness or Injury

• Employees often experiencing hoarseness of voice and ear

problems that can be commonly caused by work related
factors such as prolonged time talking and sharing of
headsets. To address the concern, employees should have
strict implementation of the proper disinfection of the
tools in the workplace and should have a balanced rotation
of shift hours to avoid voice fatigue.
Gastroenteritis/ Diarrhea/ Gastritis/ Hyperacidity

• We often dealt with employees experiencing abdominal pain that can be

caused most commonly due to the food they consumed.

• To address this concern, we encourage employees to be aware of their

daily intake and habits such as to avoid oily, caffeinated and dairy
products, daily exercise, to avoid drinking alcohol and smoking that can
also lead to many complications and lastly to maintain a well-balanced
diet.
Other Nervous System Illness/ Injury
• Headache and nausea are most common symptoms we often dealt with. These
symptoms can be caused by different factors such as underlying conditions and
can be also a work-related factor.

• To address this concern, Amazon clinic often remind the employees to have
Ophthalmologist check-up for at least every 6 months as to prevent error of
refraction due to extended exposure to computer that can be a trigger aspect on
the above symptoms.
Muscular Illness/ Injury (including Backache)
• ERGONOMICS can never be overemphasized at work.

• Overuse: Repeating the same motion — whether at work or during an

activity like playing sports — can lead to overuse syndrome.

• Not stretching or warming up before exercise: Stretching before exercise

gradually increases how much stress you put on your muscles.
