NSP-04/NSP-05 PREPARATION
Steps
1. Save old archive to USB flash card
2. Delete old archive (system-setup-clear archive)
3. Change Date
4. Change Time
5. Change DSS protocol type
6. Change Card registers (if required)
7. Change Units of measurements

1. Based on VSDNSP condition,

make sure that the motor has
been stopped
2. If necessary, stop the motor

“Params NSP” – “Version

4. For NSP-03 use Novomet MT
program and check register

NSP-04/05 FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE
1. Use PC (laptop) to record into the root catalog of USB
memory (file system FAT32) NSP program file (move older
versions of the program into another catalog)
2. De-energize NSP
3. Insert the USB flash memory with NSP program in the USB1
port.
4. Hold down two buttons simultaneously "◄"LEFT" and
"►"RIGHT", supply power to the NSP
5. Wait for 30 seconds until the following messages pop up on
the NSP screen: 'Update software...', "Erase flash: XX %",
"Load flash: XX %" (XX – operation progress percentage)
6. Appearance of "NSP Novomet" start-up screen signifies that
the program has been updated successfully
7. If " Archive saved" message pops up, press ESC key and
disconnect the USB flash memory
8. Switch off power from NSP

1. De-energize the NSP
2. Disconnect Surface Panel Y-point wire
from VSD Zero-point terminal
3. Connect Surface Panel Y-point wire to
the 0 Test terminal or R Test terminal
4. Power up Surface Panel
5. Wait for at least 3 minutes until a full 13

cycle of data reception from the NDS is


completed
6. Check DSS readings by using program
Novomet MT or KSU screen, they
should comply with the table

NSP-04/05 ARCHIVE READOUT
1. Supply power to NSP-04 (NSP-05)
2. Connect USB stick to USB1 terminal (file system
FAT32) in the USB1 port
3. Check the following messages on the NSP display:
- "USB CONNECTED";
- "SAVING THE ARCHIVE: XX%";
- "ARCHIVE SAVED"
4. Wait until archive saving is completed and disconnect
the USB
5. Connect the USB to the PC
6. Open the archive file in "Novomet UV" program with
NSP logs reading archive
7. Convert the file from the archive using
BNConverterArchive.exe software into the format of
"Novomet UV" program if required

NSP-03 FIRMWARE UPDATE
1. De-energize NSP-03/B and make sure that you can work safely
2. Unscrew the 4 bolts and remove the top cover of NSP-03/B.
3. Connect programmer PICkit2 to NSP-03/B (via terminal RJ-12: PRG, XS1)
4. Power up surface panel
5. Run “PICkit2 Programmer” (file PICkit2.exe)
6. Check presence of connection with NSP-03/B using the tab "Tools-Check Communication“
7. Go to "File-Import HEX" tab and open program file 500.007.0210-SW.31-X.X.hex, where X.X
number of the program version).
8. Click "Write" and wait until programming is finished with "Programming Successful" message
9. In case of successful program update all indicators light up for a second and NSP-03/B will go
into the operating mode
10.Check NSP-03/B program by clicking "Verify“
11. Wait until verification is finished and "Verification Successful" message comes out
12.Switch off power from NSP-03/B and then disconnect programmer PICkit2 from NSP-03/B
13.Install back the NSP-03/B cover and screw 4 bolts
