Introduction
In this lesson, you will discover the different
objectives of the PEH100 subject. You will also
learn what Physical Education is all about, its
goals and its purpose.
Physical Education
⦁ is “education through the physical”.
⦁ It aims to develop physical
students’
competence and knowledge of movement
and safety, and their ability to use these to
perform in a wide range activities associated
with the development of an active and
healthy lifestyle.
What is Physical Education?
⦁ It is a course that focuses on developing
physical fitness in the youth.
⦁ It also develops students’ confidence and
generic skills, especially those of
collaboration, communication, creativity,
critical thinking and aesthetic appreciation.
⦁ These, together with the nurturing of positive
values and attitudes in PE, provide a good
foundation for students’ lifelong and life-wide
learning.
