the Algorithms
Section-1: Understanding TrustAlert
The app is built on Android Studio, using TensorFlow and MLkit. It has 8 Algorithms in it, which
are as follows:

01 02 03 04
Image Hide/ Obscure
Classification Face Face Detection Spam Text Detector

05 06 07 08
Object Detection Visitor Analysis Face Recognition Audio Classification
These Algorithms are either in-built in one of MLkit or Tensorflow Libraries, or are built upon
another Algorithm, which is available in the libraries mentioned.

01 CLASSIFICATION
Algorithm-1:
Image Classification

• Image Classification, in the context of Machine Learning, is the ability of software to identify
objects, places, people, writing and actions in images. Computers can use machine vision
technologies, in combination with a camera and artificial intelligence software, to achieve image
recognition. It is used to perform a large number of machine-based visual tasks, such as labeling
the content of images with meta-tags. A popular use of image recognition is the automated
organization of photo albums.
• Google Photos is a great example of such an app to store images. It helps you organize your
pictures in albums by identifying common places, objects, friends or even pets.
• Image recognition improves the user experience of organizing photos inside the app, enabling
better discovery with the ability to accurately search through images.
• Image Classification is nothing, but identifying different Objects and Images through various
Patterns, Shapes, etc.
• Image Classification can be used in Self- Driving Cars, Augmented Reality, Social Networks, etc.
Algorithm-1:
Image Classification
Use Case- 1:
It helps in automatically Surveillance and Threat
identifying and categorizing Detection
objects in surveillance footage and Images. We
can swiftly detect potential threats, leading to quicker responses.

Use Case- 2:
Data Classification for Improved Data Protection
Image classification contributes to training LLMs by labeling images used in natural language
processing (NLP) tasks, ensuring data safety and privacy.

Use Case- 3:
Biometric
Biometric security technologies Security

classification detect and compare faces against a database.
This process involves detecting people, cropping face areas, and applying image classification to verify
identities.
In financial services, image classification assists in detecting fraudulent activities by analyzing
transaction images, signatures, or identity documents .
HIDE/ OBSCURE
02 FACE
Algorithm-2:
Hide/ Obscure Face

• "Hide/Obscure Face" refers to the process of concealing or masking a person's face within an
image. This is often done for privacy or security reasons, especially when dealing with sensitive
data or images that should not reveal the identity of individuals.
• In situations where images are shared publicly or stored in databases, it's crucial to protect the
identities of individuals, especially in sensitive contexts.Concealing faces can prevent unauthorized
use of personal data, reducing the risk of identity theft or misuse.
• When working with image classification tasks where faces are obscured, it presents challenges and
considerations:
1. Reduced Accuracy
2. Pre-processing
3. Data Augmentation
4. Ethical Considerations
5. Model Adaptation
Algorithm-2:
Hide/ Obscure Face

Methods to Hide/Obscure Faces:

1. Blur or Pixelation: This is one of the most common methods. The face is blurred or pixelated to
the point where details are obscured, making it difficult to identify the person.
2. Mosaic Effect: Similar to pixelation, a mosaic pattern is applied to the face, breaking up the facial
features into blocks.
3. Black Bars: Simply placing black bars over the eyes or entire face is a straightforward method.
4. Digital Masking: Advanced techniques use algorithms to detect and mask faces automatically.
These methods often replace the face with a generic placeholder.
5. Manual Editing: Faces can be manually edited out using photo editing software like Photoshop.
This is time-consuming but offers precise control.
03 FACE DETECTION
Algorithm-3:
Face Detection

• “Face Detection” is an Algorithm, which identifies, or differentiates Faces, from a group of Objects
in a Picture. It is basically used to differentiate the Faces, from a picture. It is useful when there are
many facial figures present in an image, or there is a blurry, or a very big image (in terms of length
and breadth), and we just want the images from it.
• It is basically Image Detection, or Image Classification, working on just the Faces, or the Facial
Structures.
• We can add up more features to this; for example, we can add numberings to the images, by which
we can determine
• Face detection is a computer technology used to identify human faces within digital images or
video frames. It serves as a crucial initial step in various complex processes, including face
recognition, face analysis, and identity verification.
• The process of Face Detection includes:
1. Detection
2. Analysis
3. Conversion to Faceprint/ Blueprint
4. Comparision with Database
