OGL 360 Final Portfolio

George Martinez
Part I: Where You Want to Be
• Working where my passions are in developing people,
creating joy and being engaged in meaningful work
• With family exploring the world and enjoying life
I.1. What Leadership Means to You
• My still life remains the same, but slightly more
enhanced with meaning. I think things change with
leadership and there are always things to work on. But
leadership for me is growing people and growing
myself, making calculated decisions that support all as
best as possible. Reflecting on my actions and
resources to best improve my abilities and/or make
decisions, bringing joy to my followers, myself and
creating joy in the work we do. Finally, giving grace to
take care of myself to be the best leader possible for
my followers.
I.2. Core Values
• Top Core Values:
• Dependability
• Commitment
• Respect
• Integrity
• Joyfulness
• My values were driven through my areas of leadership in my youth in sports and having to be dependable to my teammates and
committed to excellence in showing up for one another. I shared how this carried with me through the years and how
dependability of my employees is needed for reliability and commitment for my team to ensure we accomplish the goals we go
after. I shared how respect and integrity integrated through my career journey and how joyfulness came to be a value for me. I
shared that joyfulness was important as I want to have fun at work, while ensuring we our successful. I also shared that joy comes
with ensuring my values are being met and that I show up as a leader to meet other people’s values to create harmony within the
work environment. My values show up in my still life around the joy picture frame and by ensuring that I find joy in the work I do
as a leader and that I am engaged and fulfilled in the work I do. It also shows through the nature items and growing others and
myself through my journey in life and by reflection on my history and how my values change or enhance through real world
experiences.
• To have created work life balance that allows me to be

II.2. Limiting
Assumptions
• What is your single biggest limiting
assumption?
• For me it is transparency. I felt that
being too transparent when it comes
to coaching can prevent a positive
culture and joyous environment. But I
realized that being transparent and
vulnerable of what is expected can
help create a better work culture,
because everyone has purpose and
guidance to improve in abilities that
can create a better stress-free work
environment.
II.3. Sociogram
• My sociogram has a good mix of
family, friends and colleagues. I think I
have great relationships with these
individuals, but I have an opportunity
to strengthen these connections and
leverage my resources based on
strengths or levels of expertise. I think
having a supportive network and
individuals to help guide me with
advice is fundamental to making
better decisions.
III.4. What Matters
Most to You
• What are three things that matter most to you?
• Family
• Going to school & finishing
• Staying healthy
• My family is my support system. They are dedicating a lot for
me to be able to go to school and focus on my goal of finishing
school after all these years. I am also dedicating a lot of my
time between work and school, missing family time that can’t
be earned back. The investment I am making to finishing
school, I want to be a great one with amazing returns. My
family is my heart, and everything I do is for them. Staying
healthy through this and ensuring my physical and mental
health needs are met to sustain me.
Part III: Getting
from Where
You Are to
Where You
Want to Be
III.1. Competency
Development Strategy
• What are three things that you will need to enhance,
maintain, or develop to help you achieve these goals
(e.g., take better care of myself)?
• I need to set boundaries with my team so that I
can ensure I have balance between my work, my
family and my schooling.
• I want to bring my team together to create a
shared vision of what we want to achieve, so that
we are successful and all on the same page, going
after the same goals.
• I need to be present and in the moment, which
comes from giving myself space to focus in on my
own development versus pushing it aside.
III.2. Coaching
Relationship(s)
• What have you found helpful about your coaching
relationships in this class?
• Being able to overcome assumptions and being
able to strengthen abilities by working virtually
with connections. I enjoyed the different
perspectives and the challenges brought by having
to plan and prioritize our work with my peers.
• What are some ways you can continue to use coaching
to grow professionally?
• I think connecting and building my network to
understand inputs and experiences can help give
me insight to strengthen my leadership abilities.
Challenging peers, giving advise and leaning in
with curiosity to help make better decisions.
III.3. Action Plan
• Outline some specific things you can start doing today to help you achieve what you outlined
in III.1 (e.g., exercise 30 minutes a day).
• Set boundaries
• Action: Establish a clear schedule for myself and share with my team.
• Shared vision
• Action: Collaborate with my team and identify our collective values that can
help shape our vision.
• Be present to focus on my development
• Give myself personal reflection time and/or personal time to accomplish my
development goals weekly.

• How will you monitor your progress?

• Have an accountability buddy or peer that I can use to help me stay on track. I think
that having these peer connections help build some of this as well.
III.4. Integrated Timeline
• Include a simple timeline of when you wish to accomplish your goals

Part IV: Overall Conclusion
Conclusion
• Discuss your learning from working on this final portfolio,
potential helping and hindering forces for achieving your
goals, and any final thoughts and reflections about the course.
• I think the portfolio was great to be able to narrow down
my focus and goals. I enjoyed the reflection throughout
the full coarse material and bringing all the work into this
portfolio. This allowed me to ensure I can bring forward
what is important to me to help develop my leadership
abilities to ensure I am the best leader possible, while
helping me to achieve my personal and professional goals
as well.
