Sampling Distribution of Mean

Let = the probability distribution of some given population


n = a sample of size
= the sampling distribution for the sample mean or the

sampling distribution of mean


N = the population of size

Example: Assume that random examples of size 2 are drawn without replacement from the
population as an equiprobable space.
(a) Find the sampling distribution for sample mean
(b) Compute the mean and standard deviation .
