OBTUSE ANGLE
Miss Liziel asked some of her
pupils to bring different objects
with the shape of a triangle.
Jaymar brought a picture of a
house. Reymark showed a picture
of a traffic sign, and Judelyn
prepared a triangular flaglet.
Group Activity:
• Describe the cut out triangles given.
• Paste the cutouts and write your
output on a manila paper.
• After all groups have finished,
display your outputs and present
them to the class.
Triangles can be classified according to their
ANGLES.
A right triangle has a A
right angle which
measures 90°. ABC is a
right triangle.
B C
Triangles can be classified according to their
ANGLES.
• An acute triangle has 3
acute angles, each D
measuring less than 90°.
DEF is an acute
triangle.
E F
Triangles can be classified according to their
ANGLES.
• An obtuse triangle has
G
an obtuse angle which
measures more than 90°.
GHI is an obtuse
triangle. H
I
Triangles can be classified according to their
sides.
An equilateral triangle J

has 3 equal sides.

JKL is an
equilateral triangle. K L
Triangles can be classified according to their
sides.
• An isosceles M

triangle has 2 equal

sides. MNO is an
isosceles triangle.
N O
Triangles can be classified according to their
SIDES.
• A scalene triangle
P
has no equal sides.
PQR is scalene
Q R
triangle.
GROUP 1: ADJUST THE POINTS OF THE
FOLLOWING TRIANGLES TO MATCH ITS NAME.

GROUP 2: IDENTIFY THE FOLLOWING

TRIANGLES ACCORDING TO THEIR ANGLES AND
SIDES.
GROUP 3:FIND THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF
TRIANGLES (ACCORDING TO THEIR ANGLES
AND SIDES) FOUND INSIDE YOUR CLASSROOM.
How are triangles classified?

Triangles can be classified

according to angles as right, acute,
and obtuse triangle. It can also be
classified according to sides as
equilateral, scalene, or isosceles
Draw a circle if your answer is YES and a diamond
if it is NO.

___1. Does an isosceles triangle have 2 equal sides?

___2. Does an acute triangle have an obtuse angle?
___3. Does an equilateral triangle have equal side?
___4. Does a scalene triangle have no equal sides?
___5. Does a right triangle have a right angle?
___6. Does an obtuse triangle have an acute angle?
Using old calendars, cut out
different triangles. Classify
