Introduction

What is Kopyor
Coconut exactly ?
Introduction
Kopyor coconut is a natural coconut mutant
that produces soft endosperm and tableware
which is very rare in Indonesia. The tree is
only found in Java and Sumatra.

Kopyor coconut is a naturally occurring

coconut cultivar that has an abnormal
development of the endosperm, resulting in
a soft, translucent, jelly-like flesh that fills
almost the entire central cavity of the
coconut seed
Introduction
The genes that control the kopyor mutant character is a
single recessive gene, designated as the 'k'. Fruit
kopyor has kk homozygous embryos and triploid
endosperm. Farmers who cultivate coconut kopyor
heterozygote Kk will produce palm seedlings kopyor
heterozygote which are also traded.

So in terms of quantity, kopyor cultivated coconut

farmers are currently only able to produce between 10-
30% kopyor pieces or in one bunch coconut be done
naturally by planting normal oil produced from trees
that can produce fruit kopyor.

Problem
As the video shows, in identifying The men in the videos seem disappointed
the coconut, they shake it and the as they were wrong and most of the
one’s making a specific sound is coconut they predicted to be kopyor, is
predicted to be kopyor coconut. At actually just a regular old coconut.
the end of it 5 are picked and Unexpectedly 2 of the coconuts they
identified as kopyor coconut. The thought was regular coconut, is actually
only way to make sure that it is, is kopyor coconut.
to open the coconut and see the
insides and kopyor coconut meat
tends to have more texture and
clumpy.
Problem
.
From there, we can conclude that the
problem within farming kopyor coconut
is the struggle to actually identify the
true kopyor coconut in the midst of
many many regular coconut.

Solution

● Ultrasound Imaging with

Machine Learning

● Smart Farming
Technologies
First Solution
Ultrasound Imaging with Machine Learning:

While ultrasound imaging alone may not be

sufficient, combining it with machine learning
algorithms could potentially improve accuracy
in identifying kopyor coconuts. Algorithms
could be trained to analyze ultrasound images
and detect differences in internal structure
between regular and kopyor coconuts.
Ultrasound Imaging with
Machine Learning
Ultrasound imaging, also known as sonography, utilizes high-frequency sound
waves to produce images of internal body structures. In the context of coconuts,
ultrasound can be used to visualize the internal composition, including the
endosperm. Ultrasound waves penetrate the coconut shell and bounce back
differently depending on the density and composition of the internal structures.

In the case of identifying kopyor coconuts, machine learning algorithms can be

trained using labeled ultrasound images of regular and kopyor coconuts. The
algorithm learns to recognize patterns in the images that correspond to the
differences in internal structure between regular and kopyor coconuts.
Second Solution
Smart Farming Technologies:

Implementing sensors and data analytics on

coconut farms could help track and monitor the
growth and development of coconuts. By
collecting data on factors such as coconut size,
weight, and growth patterns, it may be possible
to identify potential kopyor coconuts earlier in
the growth cycle.
Smart Farming Technologies

Smart farming technologies often involve the deployment of various sensors on

farms to collect data related to environmental conditions, crop health, and growth
parameters. These sensors can include weather stations, soil moisture sensors,
temperature and humidity sensors, and even imaging sensors.

Data analytics can be used to process the information collected by sensors and
derive actionable insights. This can include identifying patterns, detecting
anomalies, and predicting future trends related to crop growth and health.

Theoretical foundation
Is it really possible?
Ultrasound Imaging with
Machine Learning
Integrating ultrasound imaging with machine learning involves capturing
ultrasound images of coconuts and feeding them into a machine learning
algorithm. The algorithm analyzes the images and classifies the coconuts as
either regular or kopyor based on the patterns it has learned from the training
data. With sufficient training data and accurate labeling, the algorithm can
become proficient at identifying kopyor coconuts automatically.

Smart Farming Technologies

Smart farming technologies can be implemented by deploying sensors

throughout the coconut plantation to monitor factors such as soil moisture,
temperature, and coconut growth. The data collected by these sensors is then sent
to a central database or cloud platform where data analytics algorithms process
the information. Farmers can then access these insights through a user interface,
allowing them to make informed decisions about irrigation, fertilization, and
other aspects of coconut cultivation to optimize yield and quality.
