    The Tamil Nadu government will implement the "Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam - II" (AGAMT-II) program in 2504 villages across 12,400 habitations at an estimated cost of 1,148 crore. AGAMT-II was first implemented from 2006-2011 and is now being re-implemented in two phases from 2021-2022 to 2025-2026. The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department has allocated 1455 crore for 2021-2022 to cover 2,657 villages and 1155 crore for 2022-2023 to cover 2,544 villages. Funds will be allocated to renewal of water bodies, infrastructure development
