■ Morphology is the study of word formation, or the
study of architecture of word.
■ Etymology is the study about the history of words or
the study of the origins of word.
■ Lexicography is that it is a scholarly discipline that
involves compiling, writing, or editing dictionaries.
Morpheme, Base, Root, Stem, and
Lexeme
■ Morpheme is the smallest meaningful unit of a language.
■ Base A base is any form to which affixes of any kind can be
added.
■ Root is a form which is not further analyzable, either in terms
of derivational or inflectional morphology
■ Stem is a form which is further analyzable.
■ is the minimal unit of language which. has a semantic
interpretation and; embodies a distinct cultural concept.
