• Meaning is Paramount
• Emphasizes interaction :language learning is learning to communicate
• Authentic, functional use of language focus on “real-world” contexts.
(promoting activities which involve “real communication”)
• Fluency and accuracy ( complementary principles)
• Teacher roles: facilitator and guide; offer students appropiate feedback.
• Student roles: active participants (cooperative/colaborative work)
• Autonomy and strategic involvement: stds. are given opportunites to
focus in their own process/styles of learning,( raising awareness).
