Scrabble is a word game in
which two to four players
scores points by forming
words from individual lettered
tiles on a gameboard marked
with 15 by 15 grid.

Originally, called as "Criss
Cross" the game which was based
on crossword puzzle and
anagrams.
Developed by Alfred M. Butts in
1931. He was an architect

In 1948, Criss Cross was
redesigned and renamed as
"SCRABBLE".
It was marketed by James
Brunot. It was first sold in Great
Britain in 1954.
