CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP

What is CHEVENING?

The Chevening Scholarship is an international scholarship scheme which enables


students with leadership qualities from over 170 countries and territories to
undertake postgraduate study in universities in the United Kingdom.
- Fully funded scholarship*
- Chevening’s 50,000-strong alumni network includes 17 current or former heads
of state or government.
- Established since 1983
- Up to 5000 scholarships granted per year (60-70 for Indonesian)
- 50000 applicants per year (5000-10000 from Indonesia)
Value of Scholarship

 university tuition fees* (MBA fee caps).


 a monthly stipend (Amount varied between London & Non-London)
 travel costs to and from the UK
 an arrival allowance (CASH PASSPORT)
 a homeward departure allowance
 the cost of one visa application (including NHS)
 a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK + (Chev Loan)

Eligibility

 Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.


 Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended.
 Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a
postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time you submit your application. This is typically
equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK. (IPK 3.33)
 Have at least two years of work experience.
 Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of
these choices by 16 July 2020.
 Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 16 July 2020.

Chevening is looking for individuals who will be future leaders or influencers in
their home countries. Explain how you meet this requirement, using clear examples
of your own leadership and influencing skills to support your answer.
(minimum word count: 100 words, maximum word count: 500 words)

engage with the Chevening community and influence and lead others in their chosen
profession. Explain how you meet this requirement, using clear examples of your
networking skills, and outline how you hope to use these skills in the future.
