CHAPTER II
LITERATURE REVIEW
Understanding lights
A lamp is an object that can produce light. A lamp is a compact lighting unit and consists of elements such as light
bulbs, stem, base , hood, and switch.
Understanding Intensity
In physics, intensity or flux radiant energy is the power transferred per unit area, where the area is measured
in a plane perpendicular to the direction of energy propagation.

Understanding Electricity
Electricity is a form of energy. Various electronic devices require electricity to be used. Housework such as
ironing, washing, storing food, all require electricity.

Understanding lights without electricity

Non-electric lamps are lamps that can work and produce light without using electrical energy.
Understanding Bleach
Bleach is a compound that oxidizes the dyes attached to clothes so that they become white.
Understanding Lux Meter

Lux meter is a tool used to measure light intensity or lighting levels in a place. This tool
works automatically to calculate and measure the light intensity and adjust it to the light
needed. The Lux meter consists of three main components, namely the frame, LED and
photodiode.

Light intensity or lighting level is a quantity that describes how much light falls on a surface
per unit area. The unit used to measure light intensity is lux (lx), which is a SI unit or
International System of Units. One lux is equal to one lumen per square meter.

Lux meters can be used to determine the amount of light intensity in the room being tested to
find out whether the lighting is sufficient or not. By knowing the light intensity in a room, we
can determine the right lights to install in each room.

CHAPTER III
MATERIALS AND
RESEARCH METHODS
Research methods
The research method used in this study was experimental, namely measuring the light intensity
of a dependent lamp amount of bleach and water.

Tools and materials

The tools and materials used in the research are :
1. (4) 600ml plastic bottle
2. 1500ml liquid bleach
3. 900ml water
4. Scissor
5. Duct tape
6. Big cardboard box
7. Lux meter
Ways of working
1. Prepare 4 600ml plastic bottles
2. Bottle 1 is filled with 300 ml of water and 300 ml of bleach, bottle 2 is filled with 200 ml of water and 400 ml of bleach, bottle 3 is filled
with 400 ml of water and 200 ml of bleach, bottle 4 is filled with 600 ml of bleach.
3. Mix water and bleach in bottles 1 to 3 and just bleach in bottle 4.
4. Apply duct tape to the mouth of bottles 1 to 4.
5. Make 4 holes on one side of the cardboard.
6. Insert bottles 1 to 3 in each hole.
7. Measure with a lux meter.
8. Observe the light on all the bottles. Which is brighter?

Time and Place

This experiment was carried out at home, Balikpapan Regency Housing Cluster Castarica JF7 no.17 on March 25 –
April 2 2023 and June 26 2023.

Discussion
When viewed from lamp 1, the lamp shines less brightly, from lamp 2, the lamp
shines brightly, from lamp 3, it shines brighter, and the last lamp shines the brightest.
CHAPTER V
CONCLUSIONS AND
RECOMMENDATIONS
Conclusion

Based on the research I conducted, conclusions can be drawn, namely:

To produce bright light, a lot of bleach is needed.

Suggestion

1. Use various brands of bleach (in this study the BAYCLIN brand was used).

2. Experiment using more samples with various compositions of water and bleach.
