The Age of Stupid is a 2009 British film by Franny


Armstrong.
The film is a drama-documentary-animation hybrid.
Stars Pete Postlethwaite as a man living alone in the
devastated world of 2055, watching archive footage
from the mid-to-late 2000s and asking "Why didn't we
stop climate change when we had the chance?"

- Watch the following clips on the next slide,


there is 6 of them with a maximum of 3
minutes.
- I want you to make notes on the clips, how
can you use them for your assessment?

Task 2 - PLANNING
 You must write an account of the effects of climate change from 2055 to the people of
2021… describing the changes you have expect to observe and explain why they have
occurred.
 Things you can think about when planning your assessment:
 Climate change and Global warming
 - What is global warming? Is it bad? What would the world be like without it? How is the
climate changing?
 - Why does global warming occur? How does it occur? What are the human activities that
enhance it?
 - Can you back your evidence up with facts, figures?
 Impacts
 What are the impacts? Can you provide me with any examples? What countries are at
threat?
 Solutions
 How can it be improved? What can YOU do? What can the government do? Want can world
organisations, such as the UN?
 Conclusion

You can be pessimistic (negative) or
optimistic (positive) view! You may think the
world is doomed, or the world has hope!! It
is YOUR assessment and you can create it
completely on YOUR opinion.
Have humans realised just in time? Or is it
too late?
