Activity 1
“My Bucket List”
“My Bucket List”

•A “bucket list” is a list

of the things that one
has not done before
but wants to do before
dying.
What are the things that you want to do or achieved before you die?

Among the things you listed in your “bucket list” which is achievable in
your lifetime, and which are the most difficult to achieve?

How do you want to be remembered by others when you die?

How does it feel
writing your
“bucket list” ?
What does a
happy and
meaningful life
mean to you?
Why some
people have
such negative
view or outlook
about death?
Is life worth living if
man is destined to
die?
How do we find meaning
in life?
How should
you live your
life before it
finally ends?
The theological and
religious understanding of
death
How do philosophers such as
Socrates, Epicurus, and
Martin Heidegger view or
understand death?
According to the philosophers which
are,
Socrates, Epicurus, and Martin
Heidegger are some of the most
prominent philosophers who have
written about death
•believed that death
is not something to
be feared, as it is
Socrates either a dreamless
sleep or passage to
another life
believed that the
universe was
logical and
Epicurus behaved with
predictable
tendencies
Because of this, he
was a strong
proponent of finding
Epicurus true knowledge
through observable,
objectively verifiable
phenomenon
He was denying
the existence of
Epicurus the gods in favor
for a reliance on
scientific thought.
He stated, “It is folly
for a man to pray to
Epicurus the gods for that which
he has the power to
attain by himself”
According to him,
each human was
Epicurus the captain of his
or her own ship
You may choose to
be virtuous, or you
Epicurus may choose to be
evil.
It is your decision
He emphasis the
“preparedness for
death” is a
Martin fundamental key to
Heidegger authentic existence –
that the disclosure of
authentic Being only
occurs
when Dasein confronts
its own finitude by
resolutely accepting
Martin
that it is always, and
Heidegger
inescapably, on a
journey towards its
own death
According to him
death is a
Martin philosophical work
that explores the
Heidegger nature of death and its
relationship to human
existence
Death is not simply
an event that happens
Martin to us, but rather an
Heidegger essential part of being
part of our being-in-
the-world
