What is an Echidna?

What are Echidnas?
Echidnas are unusual mammals.
Echidnas are stocky animals with a short
tail. They have brownish fur with spines
sticking through. Their feet have strong
claws that are good for digging. They have Echidnas
a very small mouth and a long, sticky
tongue. The short-nosed echidna is about
12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 centimeters)
long. It has a straight snout that points
forward.And an ECHEDNA is a mammal
that lays eggs.

• Where do echidnas live?
Echidnas are found throughout
New Guinea and mainland
Australia, as well as Tasmania,
King Island, Flinders Island and
Kangaroo Island. They are
Australia's most widespread
Echidnas
native mammal, being found in
almost all habitats, from snow-
covered mountains to deserts.
They are also common in urban
areas, although their
camouflage
Why echidna are
MONOTREMES?
ECHIDNAS are indeed monotremes. Monotremes are a unique group
of mammals that lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young.
The extant monotreme species include the platypus
and the four species of echidnas123. Echidnas, also known as spiny
anteaters, are fascinating creatures found in Australia and New Guinea.
They have sticky tongues that help them catch ants and termites,
