Outlining the lecture: Theme clarity
• Start the lecture with a quiz, to test the
knowledge level of your audience on the
specific topic.
• Mention the topic and subtopic very clearly.
• Tell the audience what points you are going to
cover, and what you will leave out.
• The points should be mentioned in the exact
order that you will use while speaking.
Analysis
• Show how theories apply in real field, to do real
functions. This is analysis.
• When you do analysis, keep your audience involved
by asking a lot of questions. Ask them why one
method is selected over others. This gives them a
chance to connect theory with application.
• Use pictures, graphs, videos to illustrate your points.
• Calculations should be done on flipcharts, or a
separate board.
Findings
• Findings come towards the end of your
lecture. Mention:
--how the current technology will
benefit people.
--what are the current limitations to
this specific field.
--How those limitations could be overcome.
