Tackling the Policy Challenge
Power Play

TEI GET is geared towards promoting a conducive policy/regulatory environment for low carbon
power systems in Bangladesh.

Green Light

The initiative assures that the government and society in Bangladesh are on board with the
green energy transition.

Policy-Maker Dialogue

TEI GET facilitates a dialogue between policymakers, private sector, CSOs, financial institutions
and other stakeholders in Bangladesh to create a supportive regulatory framework for
sustainable energy.

Optimizing the Grid Infrastructure
1 A Smarter Grid

As the share of variable renewable energy grows, TEI GET aims to continuously optimize,
expand and make Bangladesh's grid infrastructure smarter.

2 Distributed Energy Systems

TEI GET focuses on financing and promoting the implementation of distributed energy
systems that can increase access to reliable and sustainable energy.

3 Sustainable Grid Infrastructure

New grid infrastructure is built with a view towards it being more sustainable, both in terms
of environmental impact and economic viability.
Demand Response for Efficient Energy Use

1 Efficient Generation

TEI GET seeks to enhance energy efficiency

throughout the entire energy supply
Optimized Distribution 2 chain, starting from generation.
Efficiency in distribution, both technical
and commercial, is a key feature of TEI
GET projects. 3 Efficient Consumption

TEI GET makes efforts to increase the

uptake of energy-efficient appliances,
reduce transmission losses and promote
system-wide efficiency.

TEI GET Retreat 2023
On November 2, 2023, the TEI GET members gathered for their second retreat to
discuss the green energy transition in Bangladesh. They aimed to define
strategies and priorities for progress.

The retreat achieved a common understanding of relevant issues, a shared

vision for the TEI GET, commitments from participants, and increased ownership
by member states.

Conclusion

"TEI GET is the fruit of an important partnership coming together with the common goal of supporting
Bangladesh during its green transition," says the Minister of Energy.
TEI GET aims to implement a power system for Bangladesh that is climate-friendly and sustainable, whilst
benefiting the growth and welfare of people and business within the country.
The TEI GET Retreat 2023 provided a platform to discuss and shape the future of the green energy transition in
Bangladesh. With a focus on regulatory framework, renewable energy, grid infrastructure, financing, regional
connectivity, capacity building, and innovation, the TEI GET aims to drive sustainable energy transformation for
a greener future.
