motion of molecules.
Matter is made up of molecules that are
moving. The source of energy for the movement
of these molecules is thermal energy.
When a substance is heated, its
molecules move rapidly and bump into each
other. The hotter the body gets, the faster the
movement of molecules
 Heat energy increases as the
temperature increases.
The hotter the temperature the
higher the heat energy will be.
Heat energy also depends on the
number of particles, if there are more
particles, there is more thermal energy.
Heat flow will stop
once the two
objects are of the
same temperature.
 USES OF HEAT ENERGY

It is used to cook food.

It is used to dry our clothes.

It is used to generate electricity.

It is used to warm the surroundings.
