    BED MAKING A

    TRADITIONAL BED 5
    SHEETS & DUVET
    1. Check the blanket if it is straight and secured
    2. Position mattress protector and secure strings
    3. With seams down, position bottom sheet
    4. Miter bottom sheet – all four corners by:
    -Tucking cover along foot and head of mattress
    -Lifting corner flap – about 30cm from corner
    -Tucking in remaining portion of cover
    -Dropping flap and tucking in
    5. Smooth out creases
    6. With seams up, position top sheet – top edge even with
    mattress at bed head
    7. Position blanket – seams up
    Bed Making (TRADITIONAL BED 5 SHEETS)

    8. Turn head of top sheet over blanket


    9. Smooth out creases
    10. Tuck in top sheet and blanket on sides
    11. Miter all corners, top sheet and blanket together
    12. Smooth out creases
    13. Position bedspread so it is straight and all corners are even
    Bed Making (TRADITIONAL BED 5 SHEETS)

    14. Fold back bedspread at bed head end


    15. Place pillowcases on fluffed up pillows
    16. Position pillows on the bed as required
    17. Fold bedspread over pillow and neatly tuck in.
    Bed Making (DUVET)
    1. Take the duvet/blanket off, the top sheet, and any pillows and set them
    aside on a clean surface. You can leave the fitted sheet on the bed if you
    aren’t replacing it.

    2. Secure the duvet cover. Once the duvet is inside the cover, you need to
    secure it. If your duvet cover has ties, tie them together at each corner. If
    your duvet cover has buttons, button them up. If your duvet cover has a
    zipper, zip it up.

    3. Prepare the duvet cover. Turn the duvet cover inside out and lay it flat
    on the bed. The opening of the duvet cover should be at the foot of the
    bed. If your duvet cover has ties or buttons, make sure they are undone.

    4. Insert the duvet into the cover. Take your duvet and roll it up so that it’s
    easier to handle. Then, insert the duvet into the cover. Make sure the
    corners of the duvet are aligned with the corners of the cover.

    5. Prepare the mattress. Smooth out the fitted sheet and any other sheets
    you’re using. Make sure everything is tucked in neatly.

    6. Arrange the duvet on the bed. Take the duvet and spread it out over the
    bed. Make sure it’s centered and even on both sides.
