EDUCATION SYSTEM IN POLAND
In Poland the educational obligation starts in class 0 (in preschool or school) and ends with graduating from 8
years long primary school.

Child can enter primary school at the age of 6 or 7 years old.

School obligation stops when reaching the age of 18.


PRIMARY SCHOOL
Starts at the age of 6/7 and lasts till the age of 14.

Until the end of school year 2016/2017- 6 years

Starting September 2017- 8 years

Education in primary school is divided into two levels. Integrated education by one or two teachers till class 4
followed by second level where different teachers teach different subjects.

On the first level descriptive grades, second level grades 1-6.


HIGH SCHOOL
JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Canceled in 2019. These used to be 3 years long school for students aged 12-14 years.

Before 2019 primary school lasted 6 years, junior high school 3 and high school 3 years.
UNIVERSITY
Bachelor degree 3 years

Master degree 2 years

Doctoral degree 4 years


PRIMARY SCHOOL
IN NUMBERS
STAGE I OF PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION
Grades I-III, 7-9 years old students. Parents can ask school to accept a 6 yo.

During this period there is no special classification into subjects, only one main teacher per class covering most
of the material. Sometimes foreign language, art, PE or IT can be delegated to the specialist teacher if the main
one doesn’t have specific qualifications in the area.

During this education period teacher doesn’t have to divide time into 45 minutes blocks (like on the second step).

Parents decide whether they want their child to attend religion class.
STAGE I OF PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION
Except obligatory lessons schools have to provide extracurricular activities focused on developing different
talents and providing equal educational opportunities.

The number of students in a class on this level of education cannot be bigger than 25.
STAGE II OF PRIMARY EDUCATION
In grades IV-VIII dedicated for children aged 10-15 education is divided into specific subjects taught by
specialised teachers.

Subjects are divided into obligatory and non obligatory ones.

REVOLUTION?

YES- it seems like more humane model than revolution 4.0 including humans in the proces

NO- it’s just a concept, not all people still feel 100 % comfortable with technology on such a big scale in our
daily lives.
