Ministry of Railway released the AI
based ‘Gajraj system’
● The system is designed to prevent elephant fatalities on railway
tracks.
● This AI Based surveillance system will be installed on 700 km of
route passing through forest areas (cost : Rs181 Cr)
● The technology was tested in Assam last year & was shown to be
quite beneficial.
● The system can alert loco-pilots in time
about the presence of elephants on tracks.
Kavach System
● National Automatic Train protection (ATP) system.
● Kavach is a cab signaling train control system with anti-collision
features .
● It alert the loco pilot when approaching a 'red signal' and applying
automatic brakes if necessary
● It uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology into the
tracks.
