Smart Street Light

System using ML and

app-based UI
ENHANCING ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND URBAN SUSTAINABILITY
Introduction

• Welcome to the Smart Street Light System using ML and app-based UI.
• Street lighting is a critical aspect of urban environments, and our system enhances
it with adaptability based on real-time conditions, events, and user preferences.
• This smart system combines machine learning for predictive lighting and an
intuitive app-based UI for user interaction.
• Benefits include improved energy efficiency, enhanced public safety, and
increased user satisfaction.
Project Objective

• Implement a smart street lighting system capable of real-time adaptation using

machine learning.
• Achieve optimal energy usage by dynamically adjusting illumination based on
ML predictions.
• Enhance public safety and user satisfaction through an intuitive app-based UI.
• Align with broader smart city initiatives for holistic urban planning.
Working Principle

• Dynamic adjustment based on real-time environmental conditions using machine

learning.
• Integration of historical sensor data, event information, and user preferences.
• Utilization of machine learning predictions to adapt lighting proactively.
• An intuitive app-based UI for user interaction, allowing customization and
feedback.
• Consideration of geospatial factors to ensure optimal coverage and effectiveness.
Components
 The successful implementation of the automated street light system relies on the
following key hardware components:
 *AQI Sensor: This device measures the quality of the surrounding air in terms of
pollutants, enabling the system to gauge air health. *Photo Sensor (Light Sensor):
The photo sensor quantifies the intensity of sunlight, aiding the system in
discerning natural lighting conditions.
 *Microcontroller: The brain of the system processes sensor data and executes
control logic for regulating street lights.
 *Street Lights (LED or traditional bulbs): The actual light sources that are
controlled by the system.
 *Power Supply and Wiring: The necessary electrical components to power the
sensors, microcontroller, and relay switches.
Progress

• Successful collection and preprocessing of historical sensor data using heatmaps

of Delhi.
• Development of machine learning models for predictive lighting.
• Integration of Flask backend and React frontend for seamless communication.
• Implementation of an intuitive app-based UI for user customization and feedback.
• Initial testing and validation, demonstrating the system's capabilities.
