While Filipinos excel at welcoming and serving customers, it is also


important to enhance other job skills as well. Some areas Filipino
workers can focus on include:
• Communication - practicing clear speaking and writing in English
and other languages used in the tourism industry.
• Problem-solving - thinking critically to resolve customer
complaints and issues.
• Organization - developing systems to perform tasks efficiently.
• Networking - building relationships with colleagues, suppliers, etc.
• Learning - taking initiative to continuously gain new knowledge

• Smile and make eye contact. A warm, friendly greeting sets the
tone.
• Introduce yourself. Offer your name and some information about
your role.
• Use friendly language. Avoid slang or complex terms if English is
not their first language.
• Be attentive. Listen carefully to understand what the guest wants
and needs.
• Provide options. Suggest tours, activities, restaurants, etc. based
on their interests.
• Give clear directions. Ensure they know how to get to their
destination.
• Say thank you and goodbye. Appreciate their visit and invite them
