WORKING IN TEAM
ENVIRONMENT
INTRODUCTION

• In a construction sector, you will probably work with


other people as part of a team. Every day you interact
with members of your work crew and your supervisor.
The ability to cooperate with your teammates is an
important skill in the construction industry. But simply
“working and playing well with others” is not enough.
The success of any team depends on all its members
doing their parts. Everyone must contribute to the team
to ensure that it achieve its goals. Such cooperation will
help get projects done on time and on budget.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of 30 min. session participants/ trainees will be able to:
• Describe team role and scope.
• Identify one’s role and responsibility within team.
• Work as a team member.
Effective Workplace Relationship
• Working with Others-One of the most important qualities employers look for
in a worker is the ability to work with other people. They know that good
teamwork is a major factor in business success and that people who work
together to achieve objectives make a big contribution to this.
• Working with others is - about being clear about your responsibilities and
how these fit in with the organization and the work of other people in your
team. It’s about working cooperatively and involves asking questions to find
out what others would like you to do, carrying out tasks accurately, safely and
on time. It also means asking for help or advice when you need it.

to practice or apply these key skill
• Help to organize an event or group project
• Agree what needs to be done and work cooperatively with other people
• Plan and do a job for a customer or client

REVIEW
• All employees are evaluated after
working for a period of time. Some
companies do it informally while
others have it in written and in
regular basis. It would be
advantageous to workers to know
the different aspects of their
performance where they will be
evaluated.

accomplish the company's goals and provide
their expertise on different projects and duties.

• Research and development team.

positions team members assume or
the parts that they play in a particular
operation or process. ...
• Responsibilities — On the other
hand, responsibilities are the specific
tasks or duties that members are
expected to complete as a function of
their roles.

common ideal and embrace a common
goal regardless of your differences, we
strive shoulder to shoulder, confident
in one another’s faith, trust and
commitment in the end, teamwork can
be summed up in five short words……
“WE BELIEVE IN EACH OTHER”
Common qualities that successful work
teams share include:
• A dedication to the company's goals
and/or mission.
• A willingness to assist a team member
with their tasks/duties, when necessary.
• Superior written and oral communication
skills.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong organization skills.
