Internet
• Is a worldwide network connection of computers
and other electronic gadgets around the globe.
The internet allows us to access almost
everything that we want to know, and it gives us
the opportunity to learn new things through
various information or the world wide web.
1. Web browsers
• Displays and access websites on the
internet, as well as other content created
using languages such as Hypertext Markup
Language (HTML) and Extensible Markup
Language (XML)
• Translate web pages and websites
delivered using Hypertext Transfer
Protocol (HTTP) into human readable
content.
• Refers to a software application for
retrieving and presenting information.
2. Word Wide Web
• A collection of resources and
information interconnected via
the internet.
3. Search Engine
• Web based tool that enable users to
locate information in the world
wide web.
• Shows multiple links to different
websites/web pages related or
relevant to what you want to know.

A. Google Web Search
Finds texts that you want to know
through all the data/information
that is publicly shared and allowed
to be access by other networks.

B. Yahoo!
An internet portal that incorporates a
search engine and a directory of a
world wide web. Sites organized in a
hierarchy of topic categories.
C. MSN
Refers to Microsoft web based
program developed by
Microsoft Corporation. MSN
offers a range of services
including news, search 9
engines, instant messaging, e-
mail, and services to connect
to the internet.
D. AOL
• Internet and media company owned and operated by Time
Warner. During the heights of its popularity, the company
was widely used to access the internet through a dial up
connection.
E. Bing
• A search engine developed by Microsoft. It provides the
standard web search, as well as specialized searches for
images, videos, shopping, news, maps, and other
categories.
D. Ask.com
• Also called Ask and Jeeves is a search engine. When you
search of it, it aggregates results from other search engines
to display a list of answers . Ask.com also functions as a
video search engine for locating YouTube videos.
